TruePrivacy vs IndiaConsent

Decide what scope you need first: consent alone, or the wider set of DPDP duties. Then compare TruePrivacy's answers with IndiaConsent's.

Updated 4 Nov 2026

Short answer

Consent under s.6 is one DPDP duty among several: notice (Rule 3), rights and grievances (Rule 14), breach intimation (Rule 7), retention (Rule 8) and processor contracts (s.8(2)) also apply from 13 May 2027. This page shows what TruePrivacy does for each. We have not verified IndiaConsent's products, so check its current product pages and ask the questions below.

Consent must be free, specific, informed, unconditional and unambiguous with a clear affirmative action, and limited to the personal data needed for the purpose (s.6). A Data Fiduciary also gives notices, answers rights requests, runs a grievance desk, reports breaches and erases data when the purpose is served.

Before you compare vendors, list which of these you will run in one tool and which elsewhere. That decision shapes the comparison more than any single feature.

A consent management platform (CMP) is software. A Consent Manager is registered with the Board under s.6(9) and Rule 4, and registration starts on 13 November 2026. See Consent Manager vs CMP.

Integration needs

Consent decisions matter only if your systems act on them. After a withdrawal, you and your processors must stop processing within a reasonable time (s.6(6)), and erasure must extend to your processors (s.8(7)).

TruePrivacy connects to systems through pre-built connectors, sends request tasks to connected systems, and offers an API and webhooks. Ask IndiaConsent how its product reaches your systems.

Questions to ask IndiaConsent

  • Which DPDP duties does your product cover today?
  • Is your product software for the Data Fiduciary, or a Consent Manager service under Rule 4?
  • How do we prove one person's notice and consent under s.6(10)?
  • How do withdrawals and erasures reach our databases and processors?
  • Which Eighth Schedule languages does your interface support?
  • Where is our personal data stored, and what drives your price?

How to decide

  • If you need consent capture only, and already run rights, grievances and breach elsewhere, compare consent records, the withdrawal flow and languages.
  • If you want the wider duty set in one place, compare coverage of every row above.
  • Either way, ask for written answers and run a sample withdrawal for DPR-1042 at Example Finance with both vendors.

TruePrivacy has an answer for each row above; see the platform and consent management. Priced on scope, never per seat. Unlimited users. Quotes in INR, GST extra.
