About TruePrivacy for India
TruePrivacy India is where TruePrivacy, a NamLabs Technologies product, covers India's DPDP Act and Rules.
Short answer
TruePrivacy India is the India DPDP site of TruePrivacy, a product of NamLabs Technologies. It covers the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025 (G.S.R. 846(E)) for Indian Data Fiduciaries, while trueprivacy.io covers GDPR and other laws. Legal facts on this site are sourced from the Gazette of India, MeitY and PIB, cited to a section or rule, and status lines are dated.
What TruePrivacy India is
TruePrivacy India (trueprivacy.in) is the India site of TruePrivacy, privacy software made by NamLabs Technologies. It covers the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025, for organisations that act as Data Fiduciaries.
TruePrivacy's global site, trueprivacy.io, covers GDPR and other privacy laws. This site keeps to India.
Our mission
We want to help Indian companies meet the DPDP timelines and keep the evidence that shows what they did. Rule 4, on Consent Manager registration, takes effect on 13 November 2026, and core obligations begin on 13 May 2027 (Rule 1).
The timeline sets out each date, and the May 2027 checklist turns them into work.
What the product does
- Finds and classifies personal data across databases, cloud storage, SaaS tools and employee devices, with India-specific detection rules (data discovery)
- Records consent per person and purpose, and sends notice campaigns by email (consent management)
- Runs Data Principal requests and grievances against the 90-day outer limit (rights)
- Keeps clocks for breach intimations and the 72-hour detailed report (breach management)
How we source facts
- We take the law from the Gazette of India, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
- We cite the section or rule next to each claim, such as s.6 or Rule 7.
- We date-stamp status lines, for example: as of 4 November 2026, no Board members have been appointed yet. We update them when the position changes.
- We do not invent Board orders, fines, cases or statistics.
- Product pages describe what the software does, not compliance outcomes.
